Muhammad is the founder of the religion Islam, and is considered the prophet of Allah. He was born into the Umayyad tribe of the Banu Hashim tribe. His father died before he was born, and his mother passed shortly after. Thus, he was raised by his paternal uncle, Abu Talib. Eventually, he took up residence in Mecca and worked under Khadijah, a wealthy trader whom he would later marry.
Life constantly on the road exposed him to many different cultures, making him realize the prevalence of greed, violence, and disregard for the poor and disadvantaged.
